This far into October, you’ve probably already read dozens of BuzzFeed articles, made Pinterest boards and Googled images for Halloween costume ideas, so be ready to add this list to your agenda. Here are some descriptions and photo examples to get your creative gears spinning.
American Horror Story — Depending on which season’s your favorite, some interesting options range from the Rubber Man (season 1) to the ladies of the Coven (season 2) and even to one of the performers on it’s current season of Freakshow (season 4). Many of these items can be pieced together from your own closet. However for Rubber Man, I’d search websites like Amazon or Party City to find a real costume.
The Walking Dead — If you’re feeling the zombie vibe this Halloween, take a look into some heavy makeup. But, there is also the grunge I-just-killed-14-zombies-in-a-row kind of look that involves a lot of rugged clothing. Bonus points for dirt makeup and fake blood to give that vibe of just coming off the battlefield.
iBreaking Bad — Feel like dressing up as a baggie of meth, or the man who made it? Both are simple, but even better, you can even make most of these costume pieces with random items found in your home. Except for the yellow suits, it would be a good idea to look at a home improvement store instead.
Game Of Thrones — Go big or go home for this one. When you’re shopping, look for wigs and neutral colored clothing that can be reshaped or ripped. Best bet for finding pieces like this? Buffalo Exchange or the new H&M.
Orange Is The New Black — For a more personalized twist on the already classic inmate costume, try adding one of the characters names to your orange jumper or even wear a specific accessory that defines a particular character on the show.
Pretty Little Liars — At a glance, you may think this would be too complicated to dress up for, but in actuality, it’s the easiest. Dress up as “A” with black clothes, shoes and a killer red trench coat — bonus points if it comes with a matching hood. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to wear a sign with one of the various “A” quotes on it.
