The Oregon women’s lacrosse team (10-6) falls to the Colorado Buffaloes (9-7) 10-9 in triple overtime at Papé Field on April 27, 2014. The Ducks are coming off an 11-5 loss to the Denver Pioneers on Friday. The Ducks got off to a fast start, scoring four goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, and midfielder Olivia Pyne scoring three consecutive goals in under five minutes. The Buffaloes fought back and made the game close, then started to pull away late in the second half. The Ducks went on a run late in the second half, with midfielders Devon Frazer and Carly O’Connell scoring three quick goals to tie the game 8-8, and then midfielder Casey Brogan scoring with 10 seconds left in the game to send it to overtime with a score of 9-9. After two overtimes, Colorado midfielder Sarah Lautman hit the golden goal to give the Buffaloes the victory.
The Oregon Ducks head into the post season with the first game of the MPSF Championship taking place in Denver, Colorado on Thursday, May 1.
