– Thanks to Kailee Cuico’s two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh Sunday, the Oregon softball team beat the Washington Huskies 4-3. The win capped a historical weekend, in which the Ducks swept their Washington rivals for the first time in its history.
– Oregon baseball ended what was a rough stint in California over the weekend by grabbing a 9-2 victory over the Stanford Cardinal to avoid a sweep. Oregon is currently 2-4 on its road trip and will now travel to Spokane, Wash., for a two-game series versus Gonzaga.
– Oregon will open spring football tomorrow on April 1. The month long camp will culminate on May 1 for the annual spring game. With players such as Marcus Mariota, Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Hroniss Grasu coming back for their senior years, Oregon will have a stacked and loaded roster prepared for the spring portion of the year.
– The Oregon men’s golf team finished in a tie for fifth at The Goodwin in Stanford, Calif., over the weekend. They scored a 285 5-over par on Sunday to score a 273-285-285—843 (+3) for the entire course of the tournament.
– The Oregon women’s and men’s track and field team came away with 12 event wins on Sunday at the Aztec Invitational. Of the 12 event wins, eight of which were from freshmen and sophomores. The highlight of the day came from the women’s 4×100 meter relay team that was comprised of Marybeth Sant, Phyllis Francis, Jenna Prandini and Jasmine Todd. The team won the event with a time of 43.74, the fastest time in the world this year.
–The Oregon women’s lacrosse team split its road trip in Ohio on Sunday with a 10-5 win over Cincinnati. Behind an 8-0 run that lasted 24:38, the Ducks were able to dominate the latter half of the game en route to victory. Senior Sami Kiser led the Ducks with three goals and one assist.
