Three Chinese student groups are ringing in the start of the new lunar year and the year of the horse in the spirit of collaboration. This year’s annual China Night celebration will be put on by the Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Huafeng Magazine and the Chinese Philanthropic Leadership Association. This year’s theme for China Night is “A Night in the Life” of a Chinese student, and the aim is to show true Chinese culture while taking the international students back to when they were growing up in their native country. Typically, Chinese New Year is a 15-day celebration when Chinese families get together to honor the spring festival with food and gifts, but because the international Chinese students are unable to spend the New Year with their families in China, China Night will give them an opportunity to celebrate together. China Night took place in the EMU Ballroom on Friday.
