Photos: Con Bro Chill and Cherub electrify WOW Hall with eclectic pop performances

“Eclectic” hardly begins to describe the scene at the WOW Hall on Thursday evening, as Tennessee groups Cherub and Con Bro Chill performed their unique, performance-based sets in front of a crowd whose rowdiness belied its true numbers.

Cherub, a self-described “sexy electro-pop duo that is the dance love-child of ’80s funk and pop-music from the future,” kicked the night off with a delayed set that didn’t start until after 10 p.m., and played their signature synth-pop beats for over a full hour.

Con Bro Chill was another kind of performance altogether, as the group described as “when LMFAO, OK GO and Freddy Mercury were smashed together,” cycled through 11 costume changes throughout their 16-song set. The group’s infectious beats and high-tempo energy onstage had the entire crowd at the WOW Hall dancing wildly until the main lights came back on near 1 a.m.
