In his first professional baseball game, San Diego Padres first round pick Hunter Renfroe went 2-for-4 for the Eugene Emeralds in a 6-3 win over the Everett AquaSox. Renfroe was selected with the No. 13 overall selection in last month’s MLB Draft by the Padres after hitting .345 and 16 homers last season at Mississippi State.
Renfroe helped lead Mississippi State to the College World Series where they lost to UCLA in the finals. His performance last season earned him a spot on the Rawlings All-American team.

Numerous current and former Oregon Duck basketball players are keeping busy this summer. Former Ducks E.J. Singler, Arsalan Kazemi and Michael Dunigan are trying to make NBA rosters at the NBA Summer League in Orlando, Florida. Singler (Pistons), Kazemi (76ers) and Dunigan (Heat) have all played a lot of minutes while trying to impress NBA scouts.
Incoming freshman Christian Felicio scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a loss to Lithuania while playing for Brazil in the World University Games.
Current Ducks Dominic Artis and Damyean Dotson are practicing at the LeBron James Skills Academy accompanied by many of the top underclassmen in college basketball.

While becoming one of the most talked about players in Major League Baseball, Yasiel Puig will not be included in this years All-Star game. In the NL Final Vote, Atlanta Braves first-baseman Freddie Freeman edged out Puig, amongst others, for the final spot on the National League All-Star roster.
Puig has shown all the tools to be a perennial All-Star but has only accumulated five weeks of Major League service. Freeman set a record with 19.7 million votes.
