The Jayhawks received just 22 of 65 first-place votes but took the top spot in the AP poll from No. 2 Ohio State, which took its first loss of the season at Wisconsin Saturday. The top three teams were separated by a total of 14 points.

In the USA Today Coaches’ Poll Kansas received 14 of 31 votes for the top spot, while No. 2 Texas received 13. Ohio State retained three votes and came in third while Pitt had one and came in fourth.
