By Ryan Kartje

According to a report citing sources from FOX2 Detroit, Michigan head football coach Rich Rodriguez has been fired.

Rodriguez was set to meet with Athletic Director David Brandon at 2pm and will speak to the team tonight at a 7pm team meeting.

The most popular candidate to replace Rodriguez would be current Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh. However, within the past day or so, reports have said that Harbaugh intends to either stay at Stanford or coach in the NFL, likely for the 49ers, Broncos or Dolphins.
