Kansas junior forward Marcus Morris missed his first four shots and finished the first half with four points.
After a spurt early in the second half, he ended the 93-60 victory against North Texas as the game’s leading scorer with 20 points.
“I got very fired up in the locker room,” Morris said. “Coach told me that I needed to come out strong.”

Kansas then went on to outscore North Texas 57-33 in the second half of one of Kansas’ better performances. Morris made his final seven shots.
Senior guard Brady Morningstar started for the first time this season and was a pest on defense with four steals while adding a career-high 10 assists. Junior forward Markieff Morris scored the first six points for the Jayhawks and ended the game with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Sophomore guard Elijah Johnson returned from disciplinary action with 11 points including two three pointers.
The victory extended the nation’s longest home court winning streak to 62 games, which also ties the school record. The other team to accomplish the feat in the mid-1990s featured NBA pros with the likes of Paul Pierce, Raef LaFrentz, Juaques Vaughn and Scot Pollard.
“For these guys to accomplish the same thing in a time where there has been a lot of turnover I think is pretty good,” Self said.
After the game, the NCAA announced freshmen guard Josh Selby was cleared to play, effective Dec. 18.
