Iowa City police say shots were fired into an apartment on Broadway on Sunday.
Around 10:30 a.m., a person at 1960 Broadway No. C6 reported to the police that the residence had been damaged by a shooting.
The adult female told police she had not been staying in the apartment, but she was alerted by a relative that the sliding glass door had been damaged. When the resident went to the apartment, she found the sliding glass door shattered and found a bullet hole inside the apartment.
Officers found the sliding glass door had been shot from the outside, and they said they discovered numerous bullet holes inside and outside the apartment.
The police said in a press release they think the apartment was empty when the shots were fired, and no one was injured. Investigators have no confirmed motive or suspects.
