Sometime this morning, Indiana State U. police found a female with a “self-inflicted” gunshot wound, said Dave Taylor, ISU’s media relations director.
He said a student came into the ISU police department at 9:42 a.m. today saying she was worried about a friend who had become “despondent” in text messages.
Taylor said the ISU police then looked for the woman’s car and, upon finding it, found the victim with a severe head injury.
The female victim was taken to Union Hospital, but her condition has not yet been released, Taylor said.
“It was pretty serious from what we’ve been told,” he said.
Taylor said the victim was a former student from outside the state, but released no further identification.
