What others are saying...

Meredith Mazzotta, producer for OSTN News

Patti is an exceptionally talented anchor. She tells stories in a way that attracts viewer's attention and adds emphasis to the important aspects of the package. She is upbeat, extremely driven and eager to help -- all great qualities in a reporter and anchor. She takes direction easily and is never discouraged. She is one of the best anchor talents I have ever seen.

Larry Stuelpnagel, assistant professor at the Medill School of Journalism & Department of Political Science at Northwestern University

Patti Moon stands out from other college journalists I have known in 13 years of teaching at Medill because of her desire to tell big stories in a personal way.  She lets "the little person tell the big story."  Her video is expertly shot and edited in a way that captures the full feeling of the story in both pictures and sound.  Patti's on-camera skills are superb.  She has a warm personality that shines through.  Patti is also someone who will pitch in and help in any way to make sure the overall program is the best that it can be.  Finally, no matter what is going on around her she always has an upbeat outlook. I don't think I've ever seen a frown on her face.  She's the real deal! Professional and personable.

Ava Greenwall, director of the McCormick Tribune Fellows Program at Northwestern University

Patti is one of my favorites. So much so that I hired her last summer to work directly with me in a pilot program teaching journalism to young high schoolers. I targeted only those students who I knew would be able to think outside the box and be flexible. Patti didn't disappoint. This particular group of students had never been exposed to journalism so Patti had to work one-on-one with them to help them improve their thinking, writing and speaking skills. She wasn't afraid to roll up her sleeves and sit with a student until he/she got it right. She was extremely uplifting, both in her approach and her technique -- so much so that at the end of the session the 8th and 9th graders gave her a group hug and actually told her that they would miss her.

Natalie Kim, friend

Patti Moon is driven. She not only completed her undergraduate career in 3 years and 3 months, but continued straight into graduate school at Medill. She will be graduating with a Masters by the time her peers are graduating with a Bachelors.
