What others are saying...
Tammy Haddad, former vice president of Washington for MSNBC and president of Haddad Media
Eric’s got the brightest future of anyone I’ve ever met. I really mean it. He is the most creative, young person that came through MSNBC. He gets new media; he gets old media. He understands if you want to make something happen, you have to be entrepreneurial, but you also have to work through the existing network system.
I remember everyday he wore his game face and was creative about how to get things done. Success isn’t about one great idea, it’s about how you learn every day and advance yourself and the cause each day. It’s more incremental. One day someone says you’re an overnight success, but you’ve been working all along to make it work.
I wish I was more like Eric when I was 21. He’s in the game to win. And is willing to do the work.
Gia Pace, NBC News
Eric Kuhn is an extraordinary young man. I have known him for just about two years and he has always proved to be an outstanding employee, colleague and friend. He is organized, efficient, reliable and intelligent. Mr. Kuhn always gets the job done no matter what obstacles he has to overcome in order to do it. His creative problem solving skills are evident in every project he takes on. Not only is Mr. Kuhn passionate about learning new skills, he is able to retain this new information quickly. He is a likable team player and is always looking for ways to be helpful to everyone. His knowledge of things digital, political and news-related is exceptional and extremely broad. I feel lucky to know Eric Kuhn and nominate him with enthusiasm.
Vige Barrie, director of media relations for Hamilton College
Eric’s accomplishments in the three years during which he has been a Hamilton student are simply amazing, and with each achievement, he has maintained a spirit of humility, fairness, generosity and perspective. He is keenly focused on developing the skills and gaining the experience to become a leader in the communications/media industry.
He pursued and secured opportunities to blog on well known sites including the Huffington Post and Mediabistro.com, among others. He offered unique ideas and perspectives which ultimately led to additional media attention in outlets that include the Associated Press and National Public Radio among others.
He secured his own internships with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, CBS’ Katie Couric and NBC’s David Gregory, among others, a testament to his maturity, ingenuity, drive and track record. He succeeded in each as a result of his ability to anticipate needs and solve problems creatively. As a masterful networker, he also understands the value of connections but simultaneously is respectful in the maintenance of them.
Tony Maciulis, producer for CBSNews.com
Eric has demonstrated exceptional creativity and initiative. We welcome his ideas, tech savvy, and energy and have continued to do so well beyond his internship. He is most likely to be a successful multimedia marketing specialist or 2.0 producer for the next generation of television news.
Freddie Dorn, former producer for Fox News
Eric is a most amazing person. One of the smartest and motivated people I've ever met. Whatever he sets his mind to do - he will do. He impresses me every step of the way.
